Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 25, 2026

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how BlackVale Protective Services ("BlackVale," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information that we collect through our website at blackvale.net (the "Site"), and through any related services we provide to clients ("Services"). BlackVale is licensed by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services under Private Patrol Operator License No. PPO 120554.

2. Notice at Collection

In accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, "CCPA"), this section serves as our Notice at Collection. We collect the following categories of personal information directly from you, our clients, and prospective clients:

  • Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, IP address.
  • Customer records: billing address, payment method (handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers), reservation details.
  • Commercial information: services booked, dates of service, pricing, and transaction history.
  • Internet or network activity: pages viewed, links clicked, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, time stamps, and referring URL.
  • Geolocation data (general): the city or region your IP address resolves to. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates from your device.
  • Inferences: preferences and likely service interests derived from how you use the Site.
  • Service-specific information: pickup and destination addresses, special requests, and any sensitive context you choose to share when booking (e.g., the nature of an event or travel itinerary). We treat this information as Sensitive Personal Information under CCPA.

We do not knowingly collect the following: Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, passport numbers, financial account numbers (other than what is needed by our payment processor to bill a confirmed reservation), precise geolocation, biometric information, or information about your race, ethnicity, religion, union membership, health, sex life, or sexual orientation. If such information is shared with us unsolicited, we will treat it as Sensitive Personal Information and handle it as described below.

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the requested Services, comply with our legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. In general: contact and reservation records are retained for up to seven (7) years; technical access logs for up to thirteen (13) months; newsletter subscriber data until you unsubscribe; and Sensitive Personal Information only for as long as needed to fulfill the related Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following business purposes:

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide the Services you request.
  • To schedule, confirm, and deliver armed protection and executive transport details.
  • To process payment for confirmed reservations through our payment processor.
  • To communicate with you about your bookings, schedule changes, and follow-up.
  • To send periodic newsletter or service updates — only if you have opted in.
  • To maintain the security of the Site, prevent fraud, and detect or investigate abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations, including our obligations under California law as a licensed private patrol operator.
  • To improve the Site and our Services through aggregated, non-identifying analytics.

We do not use Sensitive Personal Information to infer characteristics about you. We use it solely to perform the Services you have requested.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We also do not "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA.

We disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients, strictly for the business purposes described above:

  • Service providers: hosting (Cloudflare), email and form processing (Google Workspace), payment processing (our PCI-compliant payment processor), website analytics (Google Analytics 4 with ad-storage default-denied via Consent Mode v2), and similar vendors who are contractually limited to using the information only to provide their service to us.
  • Operational personnel: the specific BlackVale operative(s) assigned to your detail, bound by individual non-disclosure agreements.
  • Legal recipients: law enforcement, courts, regulators, or other parties when required by valid legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of BlackVale, our personnel, our clients, or the public.
  • Successors: a buyer, investor, or successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of BlackVale's assets — subject to confidentiality.

We have not knowingly disclosed personal information of consumers under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of any consumer under 16.

5. Your California Privacy Rights

California residents have the following rights under the CCPA, subject to certain exceptions:

  • Right to Know. Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it.
  • Right to Delete. Request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to Correct. Request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing. Although we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, you may still submit an opt-out by using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Information" control in the footer of every page of this Site, which sets a local privacy signal and updates Google Consent Mode in real time.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information. You may request that we limit the use of your Sensitive Personal Information to what is necessary to provide the Service. We already do this by default.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not deny you Services, charge you a different price, or provide a lower level of quality solely because you exercised a privacy right.
  • Right to Use an Authorized Agent. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, in accordance with CCPA regulations. We will require proof of your identity and proof of the agent's authorization.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at service@blackvale.net or (818) 454-0052. We will verify your identity before responding by matching information you provide with information already in our records (typically email, phone, and details of a prior reservation). We will respond within forty-five (45) days, and may extend that period by an additional forty-five (45) days when reasonably necessary, with notice to you.

We also recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out of sale or sharing for residents of jurisdictions where the law recognizes it.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 16. Consistent with the CCPA, we do not sell or share the personal information of any minor under 16 unless we have received affirmative authorization (opt-in) from the minor (if at least 13) or the minor's parent or guardian (if under 13). If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 in violation of COPPA, we will delete it.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Online Tracking

We use a minimal number of cookies and similar technologies. Specifically: a session-storage flag for whether you have dismissed our concierge banner, a localStorage flag for your Do Not Sell choice, and the cookies set by Google Analytics 4 for aggregate site measurement.

We have implemented Google Consent Mode v2 with advertising signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) default-denied for all visitors, and analytics gated to honor the Do Not Sell choice. We do not run third-party advertising or remarketing cookies. We do not sell or share cookie data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

You may also use your browser's controls to block or delete cookies, or to enable a Global Privacy Control signal, both of which we will respect to the extent technically feasible.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted transport (TLS/HTTPS for all pages and form submissions), modern authentication and access controls for our Google Workspace and Cloudflare environments, written confidentiality agreements with personnel, and DKIM, SPF, and DMARC email authentication on outbound mail. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Information Transferred From Outside California

If you are accessing the Site from outside the State of California or the United States, please understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States. By using the Site, you consent to that transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Substantive changes will be highlighted on this page and, where appropriate, communicated by email to clients with an active engagement.

11. Accessibility of This Policy

We are committed to making this Policy accessible. If you need an alternative format (large print, plain text email, or a verbal walk-through by phone), please see our Accessibility Statement or contact us directly.
